So this is my last day before I leave for the MTC. I guess it's farewell, but at the same time hello since if you're reading this that means you're on my blog and will now have the opportunity to read all my letters I send home over the course of the next two years! The reason I've gone the route of the blog as opposed to the standard just having my mom forward all my letters to a specific mailing list, is for the benefit of all of you who don't know my mom, or are currently busy and haven't asked to be put on the mailing list, but in the future you'll want to know about my life. I know that happened to me when I was at Jacob Lake all summer and didn't hear from tons of my friends because I wasn't on their mailing list! The ones that have blogs though, I could just find it through being their friend on facebook, and it was such a delight to get to read their letters home. Missionaries are so awesome, it's a little daunting knowing I'll be one of them tomorrow and have all those expectations and responsibilities, but hopefully I'll be able to fulfill my role to the best of my ability, and the Lord will help me from there!
In case you are one of my friends from home and aren't sure why I'm writing this farewell message it's because I'm leaving on a mission as representative of Jesus Christ and for his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm serving in the New York New York South Mission, Spanish speaking, and will be engaged in preaching the gospel until the Fall of 2012. Thank you for taking your time to read about my adventures out on Long Island, I hope they can be of some help to you as you continue on your journey we all take called life. If you want to write to me my mailing address for the next two months will be
Elder Logan Malin LewisMTC Mailbox # 272

and at the beginning of November I will finally leave for New York and then you can write to me at

Anyway, I can't wait for this opportunity to go serve the Lord, and I know this is what I'm supposed to be doing for these next two years of my life. Until then, God be with you till we meet again!
Sincerely,
Elder Lewis
We will miss you Logan. We are so proud of you and the decision you have made to serve a mission. It is such a wonderful opportunity for you to grow and learn so much. There are so many people serving missions from our ward and it is exciting to see how many people are serving all over the world. We will try to keep you updated on our family. We send our love.
